Sunset Sailing
Step aboard a French-built sailing catamaran as the afternoon turns gold. The crew welcome you, hand you a drink, and then leave you to it — there is nothing to organise and nowhere else to be. You sail out along the Puerto Aventuras coast with snorkelling gear on board if you want it, and the bar open the whole way. Then the light drops and the sky does the rest: the colour comes up over the water in a way photographs never quite hold, though everyone on board will try. This is the evening we suggest most often for couples, honeymooners, and anyone marking something — a birthday, an anniversary, a last night before flying home. Small groups of close friends work just as well. What it is not is a party boat.
